About this community

A room for slow readers, margin scribblers and people with a growing bedside stack. Bring the passage you cannot stop thinking about, a recommendation with a reason, or an opinion you are still working out. You do not have to finish every book to have something worth saying.

Who manages it

  • Ines OyelaranHost

Started this room after one too many good conversations got lost in a group chat.

  • Leila MatsudaModerator

Keeps the feedback channel honest and the tone kind. Usually replies first.

The rules

  1. Say the useful part

A specific question gets a specific answer. “The second act drags” helps more than “thoughts?”, and it is easier to reply to.

  2. Critique the work, not the person

Everyone here is showing something unfinished. Be the kind of reader you would want for your own rough cut.

  3. Bring the thing you are talking about

Tag the book, link the scene, attach the frame. A recommendation with a reason is worth ten without one.

  4. Post it where it belongs

Introductions in #introductions, work-in-progress in #feedback. It keeps every channel worth opening.

  5. No promotion without participation

Sharing your own work is welcome. Arriving only to advertise it is not, and is the one thing that gets a post removed.
